Inspiration Unknown Pleasures: More than an album cover M. 12 Nov 2012
Over 30 years ago, designer Peter Saville crafted the album cover for Joy Division’s Unknown Pleasures.
It is remarkable how this album cover became a timeless cult icon, widely recognised. As many know, Saville lifted the image from a science book depicting the very first reading of a pulsar from 1967. It is worth having a read of Co.Design’s article, in which Mark Wilson points out some details of how the artork can be perceived as an interesting piece of infographics.
